Fitness Competitions

The Fitness Center runs annual competitions that encourage participants, and challenges team members in obtaining overall fitness.

Corporate Cup:

The Federal Center forms a team that competes against other local companies of similar size in various competitions. The competitions include:

  • Doubles Tennis
  • 3 Person Golf Scramble
  • 2 Ball Basketball Shoot Out
  • Banner Contest
  • Swimming
  • Volleyball
  • 1 Mile Run
  • 1 Mile Time Predict Walk
  • 10 Mile Time Predict Bike
  • 5k Run
  • 5k Time Predict Walk
  • Tug of War
  • Disc Golf

Date: September

Form a team and practice throughout the year. 

 

Harvest Run 5k

Come and join MWR to celebrate the start of the Fall season by participating in the 5k walk and run. Dress in your favorite costume or fall colors.

Date: October

 

Super Bowl of Fitness:

Make a team of 4 members and work out for points. Teams strive to earn touchdowns and field goals. Choose your favorite NFL team. Each players goal is to accumulate as many points as possible. Exercise at your convenience.

Date: January

 

Biggest Loser Competition:

Want to lose body fat %, look better, feel better, boost your metabolism, lose weight, and maintain muscle?

For this competition, the fitness center staff provides you with personal training sessions, advice on eating habits, and accountability.

Date: Begin in January and June

 

Pi Day Run:

All age and all abilities are welcome. Walkers as well. The object is to participate from anywhere, just complete 3.14 miles. Registration takes place in the Fitness Center.

Federal Employee Fitness Day 5k, 1 Mile Run/Walk, 10k Bike Ride:

Federal employees gather for a friendly competition for all types of fitness levels. Participants run or walk either the 5k, 1 mile or 10k bike course to show support and participation in the federal initiative to create a healthier workforce. An offering that supports the Army STRONG BANDS initiative promoting Balance, Activity, Nutrition, Determination, and Strength.

Alphabet Workout:

There is a word of the day and exercise for each letter. Participants use the word of the day and the corresponding exercise to spell out the word thus completing the daily word.
